Fold and Flow Studio is a hands-on art space located on the mezzanine at Loco Loaf Bakery (access via staircase). The studio is set up for workshops in drawing, painting, and sculpture, with areas arranged by medium to make working practical and accessible.
Sculpture Area: Workbenches and stools, a kiln and sink, and tools for clay, plaster, and Jesmonite.
Drawing Area: Pencils, charcoal, graphite, and a selection of papers for sketching and study.
Painting Area: Watercolours and Aquacryl paints with a range of brushes for different techniques.
The studio also holds a small collection of art books and magazines for research and inspiration.
In the sculpture area,there is a ROHDE Ecotop 43 kiln. Its internal dimensions are Ø 400 mm × 340 mm high, with a maximum temperature of 1300 °C.
Please note: the kiln is not available for outside hire.
Workshops, the maximum size of objects that can be fired is 25 cm high and 25 cm wide.
Studio Induction
All visitors must book and attend an induction session before using the studio’s open-access sessions.
The induction will cover:
How to safely use the sculpture, drawing, and painting areas
Proper handling of materials and tools
Studio rules, including kiln restrictions and maximum object sizes (25 cm × 25 cm for firing)
Guidance on accessing the art books, magazines, and other resources
The induction ensures everyone can work safely and confidently in the studio environment.
